The Home Boys
were a four piece rock n roll based in Knoxville, TN in the
early to mid 80's. They were comprised of Scott Carpenter
on lead vocals, rhythm and lead guitar; Stephen Wicks on lead guitar; Kevin Crothers on bass
and backing vocals; and Dave Tumblin on drums, backing
and lead vocals. Most of the
songs were written by Carpenter during a semester break from
college. The Home Boys put out one album, Nowtown,
available below as a free download. They also played a
few shows before disbanding as members left town to go to out
of state schools.
Scott Carpenter
later went on to play in What Alice Found and the Taoist
Cowboys among others. Stephen Wicks played in Awfully Anglo.
Kevin Crothers went on to play in several other bands most
notably Sea Seven States.
